"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…" ~ Zechariah 4:10 "Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." ~ Ecclesiastes 7:8 A lowly feeding trough in a rinky-dink motel in a small dusty town and a killer king looking for you. Doesn't sound like the place or environment where a world-changer would be birthed. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the perfect example for you to model that it doesn't matter how you started when compared to how you end. He had the deck stacked against him in just about every way when he was born - socially, economically, and politically. Yet God had already prepared for him to prosper long before he arrived on the planet, so it didn't matter where Jesus was born or the circumstances into which he was born. Slow sales. Low number of web hits. Revenue goals far below your expectations. Seemingly falling further and further behind your competitors. Doesn't sound like the situation from which a successful, prosperous Kingdom-building entrepreneur would be birthed. Nevertheless, according to Psalm 139:13-18, God already planned for you to prosper just like He planned for Jesus to prosper. So it doesn't matter what your life situations look like now. It also doesn't matter what you have or haven't accomplished yet in your business or what went right or wrong in 2013. Just embrace that you are inside of God's perfect plan. What matters most is your perspective, as in looking from where you are instead of at where you are. You must refocus your faith on where God is taking you, instead of all the challenges that are facing you. Remember the greatest story ever told didn't end in a manger, it only began there. The following post was written by my friend George Ansong, a Christian entrepreneur, real estate consultant, instructor, and coach. I was blessed by it and I'm sure you will be to... I believe that entrepreneurship is a journey of faith. The entrepreneur is able to look into the future and bring into existence those things that he sees in his mind's eye. The faith it takes to bring that into existence is divine inspired. It is God breathed whether the entrepreneur believes in God or not. I also believe that God's covenant of blessing is what motivates entrepreneurs to come up with revolutionary ideas, concepts, products, technological and medical breakthroughs that have catapulted mankind to the apogee of human civilization. It is advisable, therefore, as an entrepreneur to understand the basic universal law that, God the creator of the universe, has put in place to help nurture, grow and expand our various enterprises and ventures. Here are the Ten Universal Laws that I believe shape the entrepreneur's future and experiences.
What are your thoughts on the entrepreneurial laws? Please type your comments below... Do you realize that having the mind of Christ is more than helping us think pure thoughts and make the right decisions? Although, these aspects are critical to a holy human life, they are not the only qualities of Christ's mind that were meant to benefit us here on the earth. Remember, this is the same mind that created this world and the entire universe, this mind was the conduit for amazing miracles, and this mind also provides a window into a glorious future. If you are an entrepreneur, it is especially important that you rethink your perspective on the practical possibilities of this amazing spiritual asset. Here are just a few examples of how God turns spiritual insights into practical activities:
One way to engage the mind of Christ for your business is to regularly go into worship seeking instructions, not with a list of requests. Christian entrepreneurs should always approach God asking what do you want me to the in the marketplace vs. approaching Him with our plan and asking Him to bless something He may not have initiated or may not be best for you. RELATED: The Significance of Your Business as Ministry Of course when you do ask God for something related to your business, make sure you're not asking amiss (James 4:3). Come into agreement with His word by asking for things you know He already wants to gives you, such as wisdom (James 1) and insights to witty inventions (Proverbs 8:12). Also, during each day make it a habit to ask the Holy Spirit, "what should I do in this situation?" He loves it when you invite Him into every area of your decision making. Proverbs 3 tells us that we should acknowledge Him in all of our ways. Some major benefits of this include receiving clarity of direction, bodily health and increased resources. As Christians, God doesn't provide us spiritual tools and assets with only abstract ways to engage with them. He desires and expects that we utilize our spiritual gifts in natural ways to get tangible results. How do you engage the mind of Christ in your business? Leave your comments below... I love it when I have the opportunity to interview people who are diverse in their talents and using them in unique ways that glorify God. This Thursday on Passion in Action TV I have the privilege to interview Dr. Mark Williams, a board-certified ear, nose, and throat physician. In addition to his establishing his private surgical practice on the campus of Southern Hills Medical Center, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at Meharry Medical College and founded the Voice Care Center of Nashville, where he specializes in treating and preventing voice problems in Christian and Gospel music artists. As an independent gospel recording artist himself, Dr. Williams has a keen insight to not only the medical and surgical implications of voice disturbances, but also the many spiritual impacts. You can learn more about this dynamic man of God and how he uses his talents in business and ministry this Thursday at 7 PM EST at www.passioninaction.tv. Don't forget to invite your friends. See you Thursday! Last week I started teaching an 8-week bible study for entrepreneurs and business leaders through Kingdom Business University with the theme "Kings, Priests, and Profits." The purpose of this Bible study is to equip Christian marketplace leaders with the spiritual and practical tools to execute God's plan for their business profitably and sustainably. Our focus over the first few weeks is God initial interactions with Solomon. In 2 Chronicles 1 God sets forth a pattern with Solomon that Christian business leaders can glean from in terms of how we are to incorporate God into our work lives: 1) Worship (2 Chronicles 1:1-10), 2) Wisdom (2 Chronicles 1:11-13), and 3) Wealth (2 Chronicles 1:14-17). Worship is critical to this process because it’s an opportunity for Him through His Spirit to send thoughts to human minds that must turn invisible ideas into visible manifestations. For Christian entrepreneurs this is an opportunity to create streams of revenues through a business that honors God and creates value in the earth. Incorporating worship into your business as a best practice allows at least 4 key benefits...

My good friend Amos Johnson Jr. has the #1 online resource for Christians to learn about business success from a Biblical point of view. In his most recent Sunday Morning Bible Conversation Podcast, he shares how you can have financial success with your mind focused in the right place on the right Person. Here's an excerpt: "A major symptom of us doing things in our own power is having money constantly on own our mind instead of God. And it is very easy to have money on our mind because we need money to function in our society, to feed our family, and to have the comforts of life. Jakes about developing multiple streams of income, he talks about the importance of separating the pursuit of your mission from the pursuit of money. Watch and be blessed! This is one of the key themes we'll be engaging during the upcoming Kingdom Business U. Bible study series for entrepreneurs and business leaders. During "Kings, Priests, and Profits" we will spend a significant amount discussing how to identify and develop multiple streams of income based on your unique God-given talents, gifting, and anointing.
