Many churches are still struggling to regain their financial footing in this economic recovery. This is largely due to the domino effect of many families still being challenged financially due to the unemployment and underemployment situation. Research from Barna Group revealed that the church is falling short in in terms of providing proactive support to the economic crisis for their members or communities. Some of this is due to the financial pain churches are feeling. Some of it is that pastors and church leaders may not be aware of many of the practical things they can do – apart from just giving money – to those who are hurting financially. Here are a few ideas your church can use to provide assistance and direction to your congregation and communities who are experiencing major financial challenge difficulties…

"One can chase a thousand and two can put ten thousand to flight." ~ Deuteronomy 32:30 I feel very inspired right now. Recently we launched a Christian Entrepreneur Boot Camp with some incredible leaders and entrepreneurs. The long-term potential of this program is even greater than I realized when God first gave us the idea to do it. My eyes are really being opened to what God wants to do through Kingdom Business U. For a long time I have been searching for a business model that had a large capacity and expansion potential to reach entrepreneurs around the world with Biblical and practical strategies to fulfill their purpose and grow their businesses. What's really exciting to me is that we are in the process of pulling together a very anointed and talented group of individuals to fulfill this vision. Now everything is not just dependent upon my own ideas, talents, capacity, etc. Our team is in position to demonstrate the body of Christ in action in the marketplace. That's how it's supposed to be. Here are a few of my thoughts in terms of how this relates to the exponential power of cooperation... Two (or more) minds are often better than just one. Achieving your dreams for you is uplifting, encouraging, and inspirational. However, partnering with others to achieve something unthinkable becomes legendary. As great as your ideas may be, they have the potential to be even much more robust and effective when you are able to combine them with other’s ideas. That’s innovation that makes a difference! There are enough businesses out there for you to compete with each other. You need to find some entrepreneurs with whom you can complete each other. I call that "coopetition." I love this quote by Napoleon Hill: "When TWO or MORE people coordinate in a spirit of HARMONY and work toward a definite OBJECTIVE or PURPOSE, they place themselves in position, through the alliance, to absorb POWER directly from the Great Storehouse of INFINITE INTELLIGENCE." Of course God is the "Great Storehouse of Infinite Intelligence," for in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). And whether you call it a mastermind group, board of directors, dream team, or something else, there is great power in joining with other great thinkers in the pursuit of something far greater than what you could conquer on your own. "Lone Rangers" will eventually be strangers to success. If you desire to maximize the potential of your time, talents, money, and ideas, find some people with whom you can cooperatively pursue significant opportunities. Exponential results are awaiting your business! * * * * * * * * * * The new April/May issue of Brotha Online Magazine is ready and available for your exploration. My contribution to this edition is entitled, The Marketplace of Healing (I also have a special accompanying video, click here).
Jesus was in the healing business and regularly healed people in the marketplaces. Mark 6:56 is just one example. Here is a short excerpt of my article: Do you believe God’s healing power is omnipresent? Do you believe people can be healed anywhere, including the workplace? Do you think someone could receive a miracle on your job? Do you believe God could use you to do that? In the Old Testament, God dwelt in buildings, and visited people periodically. However, in the New Testament - which we are still living in now – God chooses to dwell in His people, and is ever-present. 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 tells us, “… for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” So as a living, breathing, moving Temple of the Holy Spirit, Almighty God is with you, even on your job or in your business. He delights in being close to you and wants to be involved in all aspects and details of your life. And since He is at work in you, He also wants to go to work with you! He sees the needs of the people you work with and wants to work through you to help them get a real breakthrough. Christ in you is the hope of glory! How can you use your business to heal people? You can leave your comments below... Your Profession is Your Pulpit, my most recent Kingdom Business article written for Brotha Online Magazine is now ready for your reading pleasure. I focus on helping Christians understand the incredible opportunity they have in their current business or career to advance the Kingdom of God. You don't need a church pulpit to make a great impact! Here's a short excerpt:
Did you know that every Christian is in full-time ministry? Whether you realize it or not, if you are a Christian you a full-time minister in the Kingdom of God. You may not work for a church or have an official title of pastor, bishop, apostle, or evangelist, but you are indeed a minister of the Gospel. As an entrepreneur running your own business or an employee working for an organization, you have been given the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility of taking your personal ministry to the marketplace. The Apostle Paul who earned a living as a tent maker in addition to being a traveling evangelist, says it like this: "... And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting their sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Click this link for the full article: http://brothaonline.com/Editions/DecJan12/KingdomBusiness.html My latest article in Brotha Online Magazine, entitled “Redeeming Capitalism” is now available. Here is an excerpt…
"For many people it is easy to blame capitalism for our current economic environment. The truth is capitalism is not evil and it’s not what caused this economic crisis. What caused this financial mess are the people who immorally and unethically used the free enterprise system for their own benefit without regard for who they would get hurt in the process. So don’t blame the system. Blame those who hijacked the system for their own devious pleasures. Admittedly, capitalism is not a perfect economic system. However, even with all of its flaws, this competitive market system provides many benefits to those in our society. It creates an environment for innovation, productivity, creative expression, price/cost competition, collaborative solutions, and resource multiplication and distribution. Unfortunately, like with most things in our society, people have taken something that can be used for good and used it for their own selfish vices. Misuse and abuse driven by greed has turned what should be used for constructive purposes into something destructive. Moderation is something humans don’t do well without divine intervention. Over-indulgence is something we more easily gravitate towards. Fortunately there is hope for us. I believe capitalism can be redeemed by those with a Biblical worldview and a willingness to do business God’s way." Click here to read the entire article... |
