Maybe not, but it could be time to reevaluate your current occupation. I remember a quote I heard a long time ago that read something like when the grace of God leaves a place, it's time for you to leave too. This may be the case for you in your current job or business. God works in seasons and we must realize when our time is up at a particular place, because our assignment is over. Unfortunately not enough Christians see their jobs in this way. However, we need to be more aware of where God's presence is leading us as it relates to the work and business opportunities in which He allows us to participate. So if you're confused as to whether God is directing you to leave a particular place, Thom Rainer, CEO of LifeWay Christian Resources, wrote an article with some practical advice that you can use - in conjunction with prayer - to help you make your decision. Here are a few of his indicators to determine when it's time to quit your job...

Did you know that a survey conducted a few years ago by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association revealed that 90% of Christians have never heard a sermon relating Biblical principles to their work life? If this is true, this fact is absurd considering approximately 97% of Christians work outside of a church organization. We can infer from this data that most Christians are not being equipped to have the impact that God wants them to have in the place where they spend a considerable amount of time and have some of the greatest opportunities for influence. I'm a huge proponent of churches providing more practical teaching to help Believers understand and embrace the importance of their calling and work in the marketplace. In a recent blog by 9 Marks, 7 Things Pastors Should Teach Those in the Marketplace, they provide some great tips to help pastors equip their parishioners for greater impact in their work life. Here are the highlights...
RELATED: Kingdom Business University Entrepreneurship Certificate Program The one that jumps out to me the most on this list is #6. Unfortunately many Christians who have a career outside the church believe their calling is inferior to their pastor's. My prayer is that the Body of Christ would wake up to this untruth and embrace the reality those who are called to business are just as important and powerful as pastors. One reason is because businesspeople have more time to influence and disciple the people they see every day versus just on Sundays. If you're a pastor, how often do you present messages that are relevant to the marketplace? If you're a church attender, how often do you hear messages that relate directly to your workplace? Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ.” ~ 1 Peter 4:11 In the dictionary, worship means “to show reverence and adoration“. A true understanding of the worship of God is that it’s more than just showing reverence and adoration in a religious ceremony, but it’s a lifestyle of acknowledgement, adoration, and alignment with His plans and expectations. That lifestyle includes the work you do on a daily basis. So as you go to work everyday as an employee or entrepreneur, the best way to view your work is that it should be…Worship Of the Real King! Do you realize the true authority and power that you have? There is more to you than you realize as an entrepreneur or business leader. God has more for you to do for His Kingdom than just grow your business. Here is a short excerpt from the article I wrote for the current issue of Brotha Magazine, Kings and Priests in Business: "So, how does this royal priesthood relate to business? How do entrepreneurs and business leaders live out their priestly royalty in the marketplace? From God’s perspective there is no longer a sacred versus secular divide. When you are in God’s family all that you do is to be considered sacred, whether you work in the kingdom as a pastor, CEO, teacher, lawyer, engineer, janitor, etc. As we continue to move forward in history, Christians in the marketplace are going to play an even greater role in the advancement of God’s kingdom than they have in the past. Did you know that 97% of Christians work in the secular world, not the church? Now join this truth with the fact that you will spend more time with the people you work with than a pastor ever will. Hopefully you can see that although you are operating in a secular environment, you have the opportunity to do something sacred every day while you are working. It is called evangelism and discipleship." Click here to read the entire article at Brotha Online Magazine. Also, as a special bonus I recorded a video teaching that accompanies the written article. On Passion in Action yesterday, I had a chance to interview Karlyn Henderson, CEO and Managing of Poimena Consulting, who has designed an impactful coaching program to facilitate women in the marketplace who desire to excel and live their dream career. Like many women seeking promotion, Karlyn’s idea of achievement included personal, professional, and spiritual success. With zeal to be the best, she sought leadership roles in corporate America. However, quickly learned, she needed guidance to soar. After receiving winning mentorship, strategic direction, and empowering confidence, Karlyn excelled into leadership roles by learning value of leadership, as well as personal development plan, compiling a support team, conquering fear, overcoming self-sabotaging behaviors, and discovering self.

I focus on helping Christians understand the incredible opportunity they have in their current business or career to advance the Kingdom of God. You don't need a church pulpit to make a great impact! Here's a short excerpt:
Did you know that every Christian is in full-time ministry? Whether you realize it or not, if you are a Christian you a full-time minister in the Kingdom of God. You may not work for a church or have an official title of pastor, bishop, apostle, or evangelist, but you are indeed a minister of the Gospel. As an entrepreneur running your own business or an employee working for an organization, you have been given the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility of taking your personal ministry to the marketplace. The Apostle Paul who earned a living as a tent maker in addition to being a traveling evangelist, says it like this: "... And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting their sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).
