Now here's an interesting story posted on Os Hillman's blog at MarketplaceLeaders.org. A Christian entrepreneur purchased a TV station and decided to pursue a radical idea to increase revenues and reach people in the marketplace...
After losing hundreds of thousands of dollars every month in attempting to attract a “Christian audience” she realized that the station could not survive without a more mainstream programming lineup. An opportunity arose to get the Rush Limbaugh program from a competitor, but only if she also took “The Jerry Springer Show.” Linda struggled with what to do with this program, knowing the religious community would criticize this decision. Then, the Lord gave her an idea.

I love it when I have the opportunity to interview people who are diverse in their talents and using them in unique ways that glorify God. This Thursday on Passion in Action TV I have the privilege to interview Dr. Mark Williams, a board-certified ear, nose, and throat physician. In addition to his establishing his private surgical practice on the campus of Southern Hills Medical Center, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at Meharry Medical College and founded the Voice Care Center of Nashville, where he specializes in treating and preventing voice problems in Christian and Gospel music artists. As an independent gospel recording artist himself, Dr. Williams has a keen insight to not only the medical and surgical implications of voice disturbances, but also the many spiritual impacts.
You can learn more about this dynamic man of God and how he uses his talents in business and ministry this Thursday at 7 PM EST at www.passioninaction.tv. Don't forget to invite your friends. See you Thursday!
Internet Television has quickly become an essential and cost saving service for broadcasters of all types and sizes. In today's highly connected world, it makes sense to stream live broadcast and on-demand television programming over the Internet. Broadband proliferation, improved computing power and larger (and less expensive) storage capacity have all turned Internet TV into a viable, revenue-generating model. The promise of additional viewership alone is huge - even shows that have been limited to a specific geographic region can suddenly have worldwide saturation through Internet TV. And of course, with increased viewership comes the potential for additional revenue from partners/donors, which positively enhances your ministry’s outreach effectiveness.
I have been able to leverage this powerful platform to grow a global audience through Passion In Action TV. To learn more about how you can successfully integrate streaming video into your marketing strategy, please join me tomorrow for a FREE workshop at 12:30 pm est.

I'm really looking forward to attending this Partners Worldwide conference tomorrow at LAUNCH, a community-based business incubator that's having a major impact on lives in the Chattanooga area through entrepreneurship and business training. Our team at Kingdom Business University is in the process of creating something similar at Metro Merge in South Atlanta. This will definitely be a time of great learning, networking, and fun as we strategize and collaborate on how to manifest our victory over this defeated foe.
"Every problem is a business... The man who solves it becomes an employer!" ~ Dr. Myles Munroe
A sure way to achieve success in business is to solve other people's problems profitably. When you produce solutions that help other people or organizations do something better, easier, faster, or cheaper you can just about guarantee that you will be compensated handsomely. Further, when you do it well enough and over a long period of time, your reputation as a problem solver will bring business to your doorstep.
Whether you're an employee or entrepreneur, problem solvers are always in demand and never go out of style. No matter what industry you're in or career path you follow, problem solving skills are always at a premium. Regardless of what your job description says, if you're a great problem solver you will be easy to promote and hard to fire.

The more problems you see the more ideas should be generated in your mind that can be channeled through your job or business. Don't fall into the easy trap of running your mouth with negativity when you really should be focusing your mind on creativity. Just because a bunch of other people are doing it doesn't make it right or profitable. You will separate yourself from the crowd when you refuse to complain about situations and instead focused on producing win-win resolutions.
"If you have time to whine and complain about something then you have the time to do something about it." ~ Anthony J. D'Angelo
With all the problems in the world today, you are never without opportunities to solve problems that can earn you a comfortable income. So if you're struggling financially, look for a problem to solve and ask God for the wisdom to do the job done well and profitably (James 1:5).

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the power of our ideas. Everything that we experience everyday was once an idea. And everything that we will experience in the future will be the result of yours or someone else's idea. God designed you with the most creative force on the planet - your mind. How you use it will determine how purposeful and prosperous your life will be. This reminds me of a guest blog I wrote a few years ago. Enjoy...
You are what you eat. This is not just a principle of your physical health. It's also a principle of your mental health. You simply can't eat a mental junk food diet and stay mentally healthy. If you consistently feed your mind with media or conversations that are full of negative and destructive words, actions, and images, then you will spend a lot of your time dealing with negativity in your mind.

Conversely, if you spend more of your time filling your mind with positive or constructive words, actions, and images, it will be much easier for you to engage positive thoughts to counterattack the negative thoughts when they come. The result is that over time, your actions will prove to be more constructive rather than destructive for yourself and others.
Know thyself, feed thyself. Many people say their media intake doesn't affect their behavior, yet over time their actions become a representation of what they have been eating. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good for you. Similar to a world-class athlete who disciplines her body to beat her competition, you must condition your mind to beat your spiritual and natural competition.
You will not be able eat what everyone else is eating and stay ahead of them at the same time. If you want to move beyond your competition, you have to do things differently.
To get the kink out of your think, change your intake. Be very selective with what you watch, what you listen to, who you listen to, and what you read. Eat only those things that will build and edify your character and propel your life in a positive direction. You will gain the courage you need to make positively powerful decisions that benefit you and those connected to you.

Your talent is a gift from God that you must exercise to benefit the most from it. God also gifted you His grace to empower you to sharpen your talents. The more you work your talents the more they will work for you.
History Channel's "The Bible" miniseries has been a ratings bonanza. The premiere on March 3 is cable's most-watched entertainment telecast this year. Further, the $22 million cost was paltry compared with the $200 million HBO spent on the 2010 war epic The Pacific. For Christian entrepreneurs in the business of creating content for your customers, you can learn a lot from this production.
10 Commandments of Content Marketing
Daniel Chioco wrote in the Business2Community blog a very enlightening article that Christian entrepreneurs can use to glean from the well executed marketing plan of this historic TV program...

I recently read a great article on Harvard Business Review, Entrepreneurs: You're More Important Than Your Business Plan. It reminded me of the leadership quote, "Become a person of leadership before seeking a position of leadership." Make no mistake that a plan is needed. However, many entrepreneurs put too much stock in a great business plan and don't focus enough on equipping themselves to be a successful entrepreneur. This article points our some key factors that entrepreneurs need to possess in their character, mindset, and skills that will position them to succeed over the long-term:
